The second week of Ar7is7s Favourites.
Each week we will be choosing one shot to be featured as our “Ar7is7s Favourite”.
For the last few months, we have been contributing to a unified collection of special effects and techniques that various members have discovered in their Theater experiences. This was a way to share our knowledge amongst each other, and so I thought it was only appropriate that I share it with you as well.
Please take some time to look over our collection in the new Effects and Techniques page.

After much consideration and a bit of arm twisting, jdars1804 has selected Anglar Sprak’s stupendously stellar shot of a single Spartan spiraling to his uncertain doom. Congratulations to Sprak and his entry Racing Rockets and great job to all our entries, they were all awesome shots.

“Racing Rockets” by Anglar Sprak
Officially, it’s called the M274 Ultra-Light All-Terrain Vehicle, but you might know it as the Mongoose. A versatile machine, it can be used as a quick method of transport, a platform for heavy weapons, and in capable hands: a lightning fast instrument of death.
Honestly, what could be more fun than riding in a compromising position on the back of an ATV whilst racing at breakneck speed and firing a rocket launcher? This much maligned playlist has been an integral part of Halo 3 since day one. So what if most games end with all the players trying in vain to assassinate each other?
This contest will be judged by jdars1804, one of our newer members, and will end (hopefully) on July 7. Stay tuned for some down and dirty all-terrain ar7.

I’ve decided to stop posting the weekly updates, as there is rarely anything new to report on that you wouldn’t have already seen on the site.
Any news will simply be posted as it happens.
For this theme, we went a bit nostalgic and turned to a theme that we had dabbled in way back in the beginning of the group, Scarabs. Let’s face it, they awesome to look at and even better to blow up, and they look fantastic when exploding. However, the explosion was not a requirement for this contest, just that a Scarab was the main focus of the shot.
So, after a short extension, Alpha Sentinel looked over the entries and crowned StarvingMarv as the winner.
This dainty shot is the work of NachoCheese.
As with last week, I welcome your own captions. Please post away.

Inspired by recent efforts to publicize the work of our Ar7is7s, StarvingMarv and myself have both made some compilations of our own.
The first, by Marv, is a more fast-paced montage showing plenty of great shots. Mine, however, is a much slower video which was intended to be for promotional purposes, and so doesn’t actually include many shots.
