Ar7is7s of Halo Weekly Update: 17 June 2008

First of all I apologize for being eight days late with the Weekly Update. End of semester exams have consumed my life and I have been lucky enough to find myself with a brief rest period before I return to complete the set.

Now, excuses aside, you may have noticed these new “Get to know an Ar7is7″ interviews being posted recently. In case you’re a little confused, these short pieces are simply designed to give you a quick glimpse into the lives of our Ar7is7s, and find out a bit more about who they are, what they are and how they are.

So far three Ar7is7s have been profiled:

StarvingMarv | CostlyAxis | Disparil

For those few of you who were eagerly anticipating the announcement of our “Spartan vs. Elite” themed contest winner, I’m afraid that contest has been abandoned. Too many Ar7is7s had unforeseen and untimely circumstances that rendered them unable to produce a submission or post one in time. However, we have created a new themed contest in its place.

This time, we have decided to go back to basics, and turn our attention to the Type-47 Ultra Heavy Assault Platform, more commonly known as the Scarab.

StarvingMarv writes:

This week’s contest is a tribute to the boss battles of Halo 3, the Scarabs. Despite their flawed design and glaring weak points, studies have proven they are seven times more awesome than AT-ATs. During the Halo’s campaign, the Scarab fights provide some great moments (jumping onto the scarab with a mongoose, for instance) and opportunities for kick-ass ar7is7ry.

Scarab Evolution

As with all cases of evolution, there were some left behinds.
